Carlos Emanuel Franklin Obituary

Carlos Emanuel Franklin was born on July 21, 1960, to the late Reverend Melvin Franklin Sr. and Mrs. Lillie Mae Franklin. He was the third of six children born into this loving union.

At a young age, Carlos professed his faith in Christ and was baptized at Seigle Community Baptist Church in West Monroe, Louisiana, under the late Reverend James Toliver's leadership. He faithfully sang in the church choir.

Carlos was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Ryan Hamilton, whom he cherished.

On January 5, 2007, Carlos entered into holy matrimony with Marie Claire Cyibukayire. Through this blessed union, he lovingly embraced three stepsons — Elvis Kaberuka, Jean-Luc Kaberuka, and Patrick Cyusa — whom he cared for as his own.

Carlos was educated in the Ouachita Parish School System. He was an outstanding, star-dedicated member of the West Monroe High School football team and graduated with pride. He continued his education at Southern University, further preparing himself for a successful professional career.

Carlos lived in California for many years before recently relocating to Tolleson, Arizona. He built a distinguished career as an International Banker, earning respect for his leadership, integrity, and strong work ethic. His professional accomplishments reflected his intelligence, perseverance, and commitment to excellence.

He was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and unwavering love for family. Carlos enjoyed sports, music, golf, and studying his family’s cultural ancestral history, and engaging in meaningful conversations. He had a warm personality, a steady presence, and a smile that could light up any room. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend who valued family above all else.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving wife, Marie Claire Franklin; his three stepsons, Elvis Kaberuka, Jean-Luc Kaberuka, and Patrick Cyusa; Three brothers, Reverend Ronald (Dr. Justina) Franklin, Kalamazoo, Michigan, Pastor Donald (Evangelist Audrenia) Franklin, Monroe, Louisiana, Melvin (Anita)Franklin Jr., Highland, Texas; two sisters, Deaconess Rickketa (Deacon Michael)Barnett, Missouri City, Texas and Shenita (Pastor Kenneth Sr.)Nolley, Natchitoches, Louisiana, along with a host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, extended family members, colleagues, and lifelong friends.

Carlos leaves behind a legacy of faith, perseverance, love, and dignity that will never fade. His life was a gift to all who knew him, and his memory will live on in our hearts forever.
