Joe Ann Hollis-Eaton was born September 5, 1957, in Gilbert, Louisiana, to the late Cleo B. Hollis and Issac Hollis, Sr.
Joe Ann was baptized at an early age at the New Macedonia Baptist Church in Gilbert, Louisiana, under the leadership of Dr. L. M. Major. She was a choir member at New Macedonia and Philadelphia Baptist Churches. In 2021, Joe Ann transferred her membership to Victory Temple Church in Winnsboro, Louisiana, under the leadership of Apostle Bakari Beckwith. Subsequently, in 2024, she made the personal decision to be rebaptized.
She was joined in matrimony to Morris Lee Eaton in 1990.
She was preceded in death by her special son, Killando Eaton, and brothers, Eddie Ray Hollis and Daniel Hollis (Earline Jackson Hollis).
She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving husband, Morris Lee Eaton; daughters, Shelia Hollis and Shalisa Jefferson, both of Monroe, LA; special daughters, Levon Marshall (Christopher) of Frisco, TX, Selvia Cleveland-Harris (Corey) of Little Elm, TX, and NeKeyshia Rivers of Austin, TX; bonus daughters, LaKesha Mitchell (Robert) of Winnsboro, LA, Janie Mercer of Winnsboro, LA, and Shaquita Taylor and Quinette Carter of Monroe, LA; son, Marcus Eaton of Crowville, LA; special son, Jermaine Cleveland of Delhi, LA; sisters, Bobbie Lelme (Jessie) of Winser, LA, Christina Hollis, Dianne Sims (Issac) of Winnsboro, Betty Harrell (Arthur) of Winnsboro, Caroly Hollis of Bastrop, LA, Mary Sasfras, and Iona Donna Sasfras of McComb, MS; brothers, James Hollis (Sharron) of Winnsboro, Issac Hollis, Jr., (Leonora) of Gilbert, Elzie W. Hollis (Shirley) of Gilbert, Balanzo Hollis (Camile) of Monroe, Daryl L. Hollis (Mortique) of Austin, TX, and Darrell Sasfras of McComb, MS; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
