On September 18, 1956, in Monroe, Louisiana, a lovely baby girl was born. Her parents, Wilford Loyd Baker and Ella Mae Coleman chose to name her Linda Faye Shaw, the eldest of her six maternal siblings.
She lived her early childhood in Monroe, Louisiana, and attended J.S. Clark Elementary. In 1968 she moved to Chicago, Illinois, and graduated from Englewood High School and later attended Kennedy King College.
She returned to Monroe Louisiana in October 1981. She became a member of the Unity Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Superintendent Donald R. Louis and accepted Christ as her Lord and Saviour. On September 7, 2008, she joined the Good Land Church and served as a faithful member until her demise under the leadership of her brother, Apostle George Namon Coleman. She departed this life on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Oschner LSU Hospital of Monroe after a lengthy illness.
She was preceded in death by her mother Ella Mae Coleman, grandmother Mary Ella Shaw; granddaughter, Diamond Coleman; son, Adjuinaldo Devon Coleman; father, Wilford Baker; and sister, Dasal Newsome.
She leaves to cherish her memory three children, Janette Sims of Minneapolis Minnesota, Darrick Coleman of Chicago, Illinois, and Latonya Louis-Shinal (Shun) of Ridgeland Mississippi; grandchildren, Jerrea Coleman, Darrick Coleman, Jr., Shundarius Shinal, Kamden Shinal, and great-grandchild, Gianna Hill.
Her life is also honored and memorialized by her siblings, Deborah Shaw of Monroe, Louisiana, Richard Shaw (Karla) of Dallas, Texas, George Coleman (Hiwatha) of Bastrop, Louisiana, Patrick Coleman of Oakland, California, Kelvin Coleman (Sharon) of Forth Worth, Texas, Patricia Matthews-Walker of Monroe, Louisiana, Connie Jimmerson and Michelle Livingston of Bastrop, Louisiana, Delvin Newsome of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Wilford Jimmerson (Latasha) of Bastrop, Louisiana, and Jason King of Saint Louis, Missouri.
She is also celebrated and remembered by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends by blood and by love.
