Willie Haze Ross was born in Monroe, Louisiana, on August 2, 1962, to the late Sam and Azzie Lee Ross. He exchanged his earthly home in Pineville, Louisiana, for his heavenly home on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Willie Ross accepted Christ at an early age at Olive Branch Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Samuel Lee Van Johnson.
Willie Ross attended West Monroe High School, where he was a member of the track team and participated in the pole vault. He was a dedicated employee of KDM Electric, INC for over 25 years.
In addition to his accomplishments and professional dedication, Willie Ross was known for his playful, funny, and loving nature. He had a knack for bringing joy and laughter to those around him with his silly antics and warm-hearted personality. His playful spirit made him a beloved presence both at home and in the workplace, where he brightened the days of colleagues and friends alike. His sense of humor and genuine affection for others left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Willie Ross was preceded in death by his father, Sam Ross; mother, Azzie Lee Ross; sister, Janell Ross; aunts, Mattie Lou Thompson- Swiney (Bill), Eloise Thompson-Marshall (Fred), Meller McDaniel (Steve), Edith Robinson (Sim), Lucille Brown (Willie), Nettie Jacob (Albert), Adlene Thompson, and Bessie Ross; uncles, Fred Thompson, Willie Thompson (Bama Lee), Rudolph Thompson, Sr. (Williana), Ernest Thompson (Lucille), Dave Ross (Marlene), Joe Ross (Laura), Lovely Ross (Mary Alice), and Robert Ross (Beaula); and bonus sister, Jan Gentry.
He leaves to cherish those he loved dearly: four sisters, Shelly Linzy (Otis) of West Monroe, LA, Jan Ross of Monroe, LA, Ruby Kyles (Sam) of West Monroe, LA, and Sarah Kim Ross of Monroe, LA; five brothers, James Ross (Susana) of San Diego, CA, Dennis Earl Ross (Rosemary) of West Monroe, LA, Gregg Ross (Linda), Pastor Don Ross (Vera), and Kenny Ross (Sheila), all of Monroe, LA; one aunt, Lattie Davis (Andy Sr.); and two bonus sisters, Kim Williams of Ruston, LA, and Ganell Gentry of West Monroe, LA; 22 nieces and nephews; 30 great-nieces and great nephews; and a host of close relatives and friends.
